Once again stepping outside of my comfort zone to do something that I thought I would never do. Entering a athlete search. This photo perfectly represents why I want to be a @ravishsandscompetitionbikinis athlete. I’ve had to overcome many things along journey to get to where I am today. Many of the struggles I had to face are the same struggles that many women do. I battled with depression and binge eating my entire life. I burnt myself out trying to do all the things. I struggled to love myself because of my dark past with child sexual abuse. I wore that pain on my body. Never believing that I could be strong or beautiful or confident. Moments where my food addiction was so out of control and my need to bury my feelings under thousands of calories. Times where I had completely given up. Yet deep down inside I knew this wasn’t me. This was a version of me who was playing it safe. Who was afraid to take risks for fear of failure and being judged. I tried so many times to change with quick fixes. I failed to see how my family and friends saw me. I failed to see how my son loved me regardless. The times I tried to change were for the wrong reasons. They never worked because I wasn’t coming from a place of love. The day my son ran from me at the park and into the street nearly being crushed my a car, was the day everything changed. I realized he needed a mom who was healthy. Who could play with him. Who could protect him but more importantly, a mom who loved herself enough to care for her body. That day i started my transformation from the inside out. I knew I had to do it the right way with exercise and nutrition. I found myself along the way. I finally saw the badass I knew I always was. I let go of fear and became FEARLESS. I started to say I can instead of I can’t. I finally allowed myself to be me unapologetically. I stepped on stage in a @ravishsandscompetitionbikinis for the @wbff_official transformation category to celebrate my journey to self love. My journey doesn’t end here. I’ve only just begun. I will keep getting on stage to show those who struggled like me that you have all the power you need to be who you truly are. ❤️

My trainer had me doing yoga 🧘‍♀️ today as an active recovery day & hot damn did I need that stretch. It felt so good....y’all I NEVER do yoga. I’m more of a high intensity, strength training gal but this humbled me so much today 😀Also...I never in a million years thought I could be this freaking flexible! I mean 🤯😳 . The best part about challenging yourself is that you never know what you are capable of unless you try! Next time you utter the words “I can never do that”...I challenge you to say “yes” and freaking go for it. I promise you will surprise yourself by how capable you really are ❤️Also....I did yoga the first time in over a year & apparently I think I’m some sort of profesh Yogi or something🤣

Saying hi to all 1,600 + KRH Fitness followers ! Thank you all so much for all the love you’ve been giving me these last 345 days and to those whom have stuck by me almost 3 years. As this year is coming to an end it’s made me realize how I haven’t been posting too much on me and my fitness this year due to a huge lack of motivation and honestly struggling a lot mentally this year. I know there has been a lot of ups and downs especially with my weight. I honestly felt like this last year has been the most challenging to the point I think I gained 30 pounds which is huge. I’m very embarrassed. It made me so sad I couldn’t even look at myself. I’ve barely taken any photos this year because I didn’t want that reminder of where I was and to now. Logging on to Instagram and seeing old posts just bummed me instead of motivated. So eventually I couldn’t stand it anymore and I became more active walking more, making my meals from home and I’m back ⬇️ the 30 I was up before. Something so easy but yet I found so hard to do. I need to keep going. I need to do this for me and my future. I got to stop thinking short term I need to keep looking to the future. We’re all human we’re not perfect in any sense. I want to be relateable to my followers that struggle and let them know hard work doesn’t come easy you’re not going to wake up feeling like a million bucks if you don’t put in the effort. It’s been a long and exhausting day but I wanted to share this #transformationtuesday picture before the day is over. I found a video of myself chasing my kids and took screenshots so the quality is bad but I was struck at how I couldn’t move. I almost looked like I was in pain as I ran after my kids. And to be honest, in the video, I could only take maybe 10 strides before I stopped. I realized how big of an accomplishment it is that I now run and actually love it. I love training on the treadmill and I love running long distances. It took a long time to get here but little by little I got stronger, and better and could do more and go further. It may seem daunting but just make small goals and keep going. The best things I did in the last 2 years to feel and run strong: •• 1️⃣Strength train and mobility! My bf is a big gym go-er. So when I moved to TN I started going with him. I used to lift 5lb weights and call it a day. Now I lift heavy and intentional. &&& I can’t tell you how much this has changed my running!!! . •• 2️⃣Blood tests!! Y’all, these last 2 years were hard & I can’t tell you how many doctors I had to see because I was so inflamed, because I couldn’t stop throwing up randomly, etc. Never give up on your health, you know your body BETTER THAN ANYONE, and get blood tests done to see what foods you’re allergic to, deficiencies, etc! . •• 3️⃣Run less!! This isn’t for everyone but I had to start all over. I had overtrained sooo far down I couldn’t run anymore. I had to retrain my body to use the right sources on the run. I had to SLOW DOWN my easy runs. . •• 4️⃣Sleep more!! My body was in complete overdrive of stress and wasn’t working on 7 hours of sleep. I know I sleep more than an average person but damn I can’t tell you how much your body needs sleep & rest days! •• 5️⃣Nutrition!!! This one was big for me. One I’m still working through daily. It’s the hardest piece for me. I do count my macros but one big thing I’ve learned (for my body bc I’m sure I was like 70% carbs) is that we (runners) need a solid balance of food - whatever that looks like for YOU. . •• 6️⃣The right group of people!! I’ve lost friends over this “lifestyle” but I’ve gained so much more. Hire a coach you trust, train with people who “get it”, hang out with people who support and not ones who use you or constantly compete with you, and ask questions & LEARN from friends, coach’s, people you look up to, etc!! All these people around you - love on them, learn from them, and encourage them! . •• I hope you see that this journey we’re on isn’ t an “overnight” thing - especially for me. It doesn’t come easy for me and I have to work at this every single day. •• ⚡️What’s something you’re so glad you started or did this year that’s made a big difference in your life?
